Found Family

Being away from home, from family, made me realise more about how important friendships are to keep me sane and going through hard and lonely times.

If you ask me, what am I most grateful for these past 3 years in my studying abroad journey, my instant answer would most likely be: my found family.

It was never a lonely journey for me. I have friends I can seek advice from, I can rely on, I can cry on, I can rant to. So much love was received and poured throughout this journey which I will always be grateful and never have an ounce of regret.

I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude and love for the ones who was there in my journey of growing.

• Thank you to my chatty housemate, the one who had seen me going through most of my breakdowns and dealt with my annoying habits. I always find comfort in our late-night chats and I am always grateful for having you as my housemate.
• Thank you to my long-distance best friend, the one where I go to when I have new gossips, new complains, new movies, new hobbies. You always have a special place in my heart and I really cherish this friendship. I wish we could still be this silly and whimsy together till forever.
• Thank you to my partner-in-crimestry (chemistry). I would never forget our study sessions at our favourite café, our academic breakdowns, our covering up for each other when the other doesn’t make it class and of course our silly shenanigans. I always hope we can see each other succeed and I hope you know I am proud of you.
• Thank you to my no.1 reliable navigator. I am always grateful when I go travelling with you and I can just my brain off because of how I trust you completely. I always am in awe of your travelling and planning traits.
• Thank you to my lovely lab mate. I always ask the dumbest questions to her but she always guides and help me with a big and caring heart. She would also greet me with the biggest smile every single time without fail.

Of course, this is just a fraction of the people who was there for me. I am blessed with such amazing friendships and I hope everybody gets to experience such love. I also want to take this opportunity to anybody who happens to be reading this, don’t forget to express your love and appreciation to the people around as our time in the world is just so so little.
